SECTION 1. The Los Baños School of Fisheries in Los Baños, Laguna, is hereby converted into a college to be known as the Los Baños College of Fisheries and shall be under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE LOS BAÑOS SCHOOL OF FISHERIES IN LOS BAÑOS, LAGUNA, INTO A COLLEGE TO BE KNOWN AS THE LOS BAÑOS COLLEGE OF FISHERIES AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.
SEC. 2. The Los Baños College of Fisheries shall, in addition to the secondary fishery curriculum and the three-year course leading to the Diploma in Fishery Technology, offer the following collegiate courses:
(a) Bachelor of Science in Fishery Education
(b) Bachelor of Science in Fisheries
SEC. 3. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports is hereby directed to take such steps as are necessary for the conversion, operation and immediate implementation of this Act.
SEC. 4. The existing appropriations for the Los Baños School of Fisheries are hereby transferred to the Los Baños College of Fisheries to be disbursed in accordance with the provisions of this Act. Thereafter, the necessary amount required for the operation and maintenance of the new college shall be provided for in subsequent General Appropriations Acts, until which time the operation of the institution as a college shall be deferred, provided that its new name shall take effect upon approval of this Act.
SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
