SETTING FEBRUARY 22 AND 23 AS ADDITIONAL DATES FOR THE REGISTRATION OF BARANGAY MEMBERS.

Preamble

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections has informed that there

is widespread clamor for the setting aside of additional dates or

registration for barangay members to enable them to register and to cast

their votes on referendum day;

WHEREAS, it is my desire that the greatest possible number

of the citizenry be afforded ample opportunity to participate in the

forthcoming referendum.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the

Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution,

do hereby order and decree:

Section 1 Special period of registration.

SECTION 1. Special period of registration. — The period from

February 22 to 23, 1975, is hereby declared as a special period for the

registration of members of barangays who failed to register during the

period set under Presidential Decree No. 629, as amended.

Section 2 Effectivity.

SEC. 2. Effectivity. — This Decree shall take effect

immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 7th day of February, in the year of

Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-five.
