Section 1
SECTION 1. It is hereby declared a policy of the government to advance the rights and collective well-being of indigenous peoples through the annual observance of the National Indigenous Peoples Day in the Philippines.

Section 2
SEC. 2. The National Indigenous Peoples Day in the Philippines shall be observed on August 9 of each year and is hereby declared a special working holiday.
Section 3
SEC. 3. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples shall promulgate the rules and regulations for the meaningful observance of the National Indigenous Peoples Day.
Section 4
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation. Approved, (SGD.) FRANKLIN M.
