SECTION 1. It is hereby declared a policy of the government to
advance the rights and collective well-being of indigenous peoples
through the annual observance of the National Indigenous Peoples Day in
the Philippines.

SECTION 1. It is hereby declared a policy of the government to
advance the rights and collective well-being of indigenous peoples
through the annual observance of the National Indigenous Peoples Day in
the Philippines.
SEC. 2. The National Indigenous Peoples Day in the Philippines
shall be observed on August 9 of each year and is hereby declared a
special working holiday.
SEC. 3. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples shall
promulgate the rules and regulations for the meaningful observance of
the National Indigenous Peoples Day.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
