AN ACT RENAMING THE SURIGAO DEL SUR STATE UNIVERSITY (SDSSU) IN THE PROVINCE OF SURIGAO DEL SUR TO NORTH EASTERN MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY (NEMSU)

Section 1

SECTION 1. The Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU) in the Province of Surigao del Sur is hereby renamed as the North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU).

Section 2

SEC. 2. The provisions of Republic Act No. 8292, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997”, shall form part of this Act and the governing charter of the University.

Section 3

SEC. 3. All laws, executive orders, decrees, instructions, rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with any provisions of this Act are amended, repealed or modified accordingly.

Section 4

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
