AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF MANGATAREM DISTRICT HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MANGATAREM, PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN FROM TWENTY-FIVE (25) TO FIFTY (50) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Section 1

SECTION 1. The bed capacity of the Mangatarem District Hospital in the Municipality of Mangatarem, Province of Pangasinan is hereby increased from twenty-five (25) to fifty (50) beds. Any future increase in bed capacity shall be consistent with the hospital development plan which shall be prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Mangatarem District Hospital, and submitted to the Department of Health (DOH).

Section 2

SEC. 2. The existing professional health care services and facilities of the Mangatarem District Hospital shall also hereby upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the bed capacity increase as provided in Section 1 hereof.

Section 3

SEC. 3. The existing workforce of the Mangatarem District Hospital, which includes doctors, nurses and support personnel, shall also be increased correspondingly.

Section 4

SEC. 4. The Provincial Government of Pangasian shall provide the necessary funds to cover the maintenance and other operating expenses of the Mangatarem District Hospital. It shall also appropriate funds for the human resource complement to support the increase in bed capacity and the corresponding upgrading of its service facilities and professional health care services.

Section 5

SEC. 5. The Secretary of the DOH shall include in the Department’s subsidy program, support for the capital outlay requirements of the Mangatarem District Hospital.

Section 6

SEC. 6. If any provision or part of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 7

SEC. 7. All laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Section 8

SEC. 8. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
