AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE REGION 1 MEDICAL CENTER IN THE CITY OF DAGUPAN, PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN, FROM SIX HUNDRED (600) TO ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED (1,500) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Section 1

SECTION 1. The authorized bed capacity of the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in the City of Dagupan, Province of Pangasinan, shall be increased from six hundred (600 to one thousand five hundred (1,500) beds.

Section 2

SEC. 2. The existing professional healthcare services and facilities of the R1MC shall also be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity as provided in Section 1 hereof.

Section 3

SEC. 3. The existing workforce of the R1MC, which includes doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly

Section 4

SEC. 4. The Secretary of Health, after consultation with the Medical Center Chief of R1MC, and in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management and the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission, determine the additional new positions to be created.

Section 5

SEC. 5. The Secretary of Health shall immediately include in the Department's program the implementation of this Act, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 6

SEC. 6. If any provision of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 7

SEC. 7. All laws, executive orders, issuances, and rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Section 8

SEC. 8. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
