AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE PHILIPPINE GENERAL HOSPITAL FROM ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR (1,334) TO TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED (2,200) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Section 1

SECTION 1. The authorized bed capacity of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) is hereby increased from one thousand three hundred thirty-four (1,334) to two thousand two hundred (2,200) beds.

Section 2

SEC. 2. The existing hospital facilities and professional health care services of the PGH shall be upgraded to conform and be commensurate with the increase in its bed capacity. The workforce of the PGH shall be increased correspondingly.

Section 3

SEC. 3. The amount necessary for the effective implementation of this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 4

SEC. 4. If any provision or part of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 5

SEC. 5. All other laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Section 6

SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act was passed by the Senate of the Philippines as Senate Bill No. 2928 on February 3, 2025 and adopted by the House of Representatives as an amendment to House Bill No. 10147 on February 5, 2025.
