Section 1

SECTION 1. For the purpose of promoting international friendship and understanding, His Excellency, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Republic of the Philippines, is authorized to accept the order of the "Grand Cordon of the Order of Propitious Clouds" offered to him by the Chinese Government when he was Vice-President of the Philippines and to wear the insignia of the Order.

Section 2

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

Enacted, without Executive approval, March 24, 1949.
