AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CREDITING OF ALL PRIOR SERVICE RENDERED IN THE ARMY OF THE UNITED STATES BY THE LATE BRIGADIER GENERAL VICENTE LIM IN THE COMPUTATION OF RETIREMENT BENEFITS PAYABLE TO HIS MINOR LEGITIMATE CHILDREN AND WIDOW UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED THREE HUNDRED FORTY.

Section 1

SECTION 1. The provisions of any existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, the amount of retirement pay to which the minor legitimate children and widow of the late Brigadier General Vicente Lim shall be entitled to receive under the provisions of sections two, three and fourteen of Republic Act Numbered Three hundred forty, otherwise known as the "Armed Forces Retirement Act", shall be computed on the basis of the total period of active service rendered by the decedent as cadet of the United states Military Academy and as a commissioned officer m the Army of the United States and in the Philippine Army. All pertinent provisions of Republic Act Numbered Three hundred forty not in conflict with the provisions of this Act shall be applicable in determining the rights to and amount of retirement pay due the decedent's minor children and widow.

Section 2

SEC. 2. All sums necessary for the payment of the retirement pay pursuant to the provisions of this Act shall be paid from fund annually appropriated for the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the retirement of its personnel.

Section 3

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
