Section 1

SECTION 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Four hundred sixteen us amended is hereby further amended to read as follows: "SECTION 1. The present Philippine Normal School, located in the City of Manila, Philippine is hereby converted into the Philippine Normal College, which will offer not only its present two-year general and three-year combined curricula but also four-year and five-year courses leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Education, and Master of Arts in Education, respectively."

Section 2

SEC. 2. Section two of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows: "SEC. 2. The purpose of the said college shall be to pro­vide professional, technical, and special instruction for special purposes and progressive leadership in the fields of elementary and secondary education."

Section 4

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. Approved, June 21, 1969.

Section 5

SEC. 5. Subparagraph (b) of Section five of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows: "(b) To confer the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Education, and Master of Arts in Education to successful candidates for graduation."
