SECTION 1. As of the date of the proclamation of the Republic of the Philippines on the fourth day of July, nineteen hundred and forty-six, the present Congress of the Philippines shall be known as the First Congress of the Republic of the Philippines.

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT AS OF THE DATE OF THE PROCLAMATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES THE PRESENT CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE FIRST CONGRESS OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSE.
SEC. 2. All laws enacted by the said Congress on or after said date shall be serially numbered beginning with number one and shall be known as Republic Acts.
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect as of July four, nineteen hundred and forty-six.
