AN ACT REGULATING THE PRICES OF ADMISSION TO THEATERS, CINEMATOGRAPHS, HORSE RACES, JAI ALAI AND OTHER PLACES OF AMUSEMENT, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS.

Section 1

SECTION 1. A board composed of five members to be appointed by the President of the Philippines, with the consent of the Commission on Appointments, is hereby created, whose function shall be to fix the maximum prices of admission to theaters, cinematographs, horse races, jai alai, and other places of amusement, hereby authorizing said board to classify the foregoing establishments and to fix uniform rates for each class of establishment.

Section 2

SEC. 2. It shall be unlawful for any proprietor, lessee or operator of each of said establishments to charge prices of admission in excess of the maximum fixed by the board pursuant to section one hereof; and any such proprietor, lessee, or operator found guilty of violating the provisions of the order of the board shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five thousand pesos or by imprisonment not exceeding one year. In the case of corporations or associations, the criminal liability shall devolve upon the president, Manager or managing director. In addition, the offending establishment shall lose its license.

Section 3

SEC. 3. The sum of twenty thousand pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of the funds of the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated to carry into effect the purposes of this Act.

Section 4

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
