SECTION 1. Any provision of existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, the registers of deeds of the Provinces of Misamis Oriental, Agusan and Nueva Ecija shall be ex officio registers of deeds for the Cities of Cagayan de Oro, Butuan and Cabanatuan, respectively, while said cities continue as the capitals of said provinces, and shall each receive an additional compensation of five hundred pesos per annum, payable from the funds of the city concerned.
