SEC. 4. Section twelve of said Act is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following words: "There may also be employed in the office of the clerk of each of the municipal courts two deputy clerks, to be appointed by the clerks, respectively, one at a salary of one thousand dollars per annum and one at a salary of six hundred dollars per annum, and one interpreter for each court, to be appointed by the judge thereof, at a maximum salary of one thousand five hundred dollars per annum. Special interpreters versed in Chinese, Japanese, or other languages may be temporarily employed by the judge of either court when necessary for the due administration of justice, at a reasonable compensation, to be fixed by the judge making the appointment."
