Section 2

SEC. 2. Section twenty-one hundred and seventy-seven of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows: "SEC. 2177. Term of elective officer.—The term of a municipal officer elected at any general election commencing with the year nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, shall begin on the sixteenth of July following such election and shall end on the fifteenth of the same month three years thereafter; but if a successor be not inducted at the time appointed by law, the incumbent shall hold over until a successor shall be duly qualified."
