SECTION 1. Section four of Act Numbered Four hundred and sixty-seven, entitled "An Act to provide for taking a census of the Philippine Islands," is hereby amended so that it shall read as follows: "There shall also be in the Census Bureau, to be appointed by the Director thereof, one chief clerk, who shall receive a salary at the rate of two thousand two hundred and fifty dollars per year; three secretaries, each at a salary of one hundred and fifty dollars per month; six clerks, each at a salary of one hundred and thirty-three dollars and thirty-three cents per month; and such number of clerks at a salary of not more than eighty-five dollars per month, to be appointed from time to time, and such number of laborers as may be found necessary for the prompt and proper performance of the duties herein required at wages to be fixed by the head of the Bureau."
