Section 1
SECTION 1. Section seventeen of Act Numbered of Act Numbered One hundred eighty-three, entitled "An Act to incorporate the city of Manila," is hereby amended by relettering paragraph (ii) thereof (kk), and by adding thereto after paragraph (hh) thereof, the following paragraphs: "(ii) To regulate, control, and prevent discrimination in the sale and supply of gas, electricity, and telephone and street-railway service, and fix and regulate rates and charges therefor where the same have not been fixed by Act of Congress or the Philippine Commission; and to provide for the inspection of all gas, electric, telephone, and street-railway wires, conduits, meters, and other apparatus, and the condemnation and correction or removal of the same when dangerous or defective. "(jj) To declare, prevent, and abate nuisances, and to regulate the ringing of bells and the making of loud or unusual noises."
