Section 1
SECTION 1. The Civil Governor, with the advice and consent of the Commission, is hereby authorized to appoint an assistant clerk of the Court of Land Registration. He shall receive compensation at the rate of two thousand dollars, money of the United States, per annum, and shall be subject to removal in the manner provided in section three of Act Numbered Four hundred and ninety-six, and a vacancy in his office shall be filled in the manner in that section provided. In case of the death or disability of the clerk, the assistant clerk shall perform the duties of clerk until the vacancy is filled or the disability is removed. The assistant clerk shall act as deputy to the clerk of the court, and shall perform such other duties as shall be assigned hum by the judges of the court or by the clerk of the court, and shall be subject to the general supervision and control of the clerk of the court.
