SEC. 9. Section seventy-six-A of the National Defense -Act as amended by Commonwealth Act Numbered Seventy,' is further amended so as to read as follows: "SEC. 76-A. Any person failing to register for military service herein provided, or who shall fail to report to the corresponding Acceptance Board or to a designated training camp after having been duly notified to do so shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to serve not more than six months in prison or to pay a fine of not to exceed two hundred pesos, or both, at the discretion of the court. Conviction for this offense shall not exempt the person convicted from the military service herein required. "The municipalities and chartered cities shall be exempt from the payment of all court and sheriff's fees in the . prosecution of cases falling under this section."
