Sec. 2. It shall be the function and duty of the Cancer Institute: To provide for accommodation, facilities, and medical treatment of patients suffering from cancer, subject to the rules and regulations of the Philippine General Hospital. To conduct researches and investigations into the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer. To promote, organize, coordinate, inspect and regulate all activities related to cancer in the Philippines. To provide, extend, equip, and maintain laboratories and other educational facilities for professional workers in the cancer field. To collect, collate and disseminate information concerning the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer.
