Section 7

SEC. 7. The Mayor - His Appointment and Compensation. - The Mayor shall be the chief executive of the city. He shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines, with the consent of the Commission on .Appointments of the National Assembly, and shall hold office at the pleasure of the President. He shall receive a salary of not exceeding four thousand pesos a year. with the approval of the Secretary of the Interior, the Mayor may be provided, in addition to his salary, a not commutable allowance of not exceeding two thousand pesos per annum.
