SEC. 27. Reports to the Mayor concerning schools—Construction and custody of school buildings.—The city superintendent of schools shall make a quarterly report of the condition of the schools and school buildings of the City of Cebu to the Mayor, and such recommendations as seem to him wise in respect to the number of teachers, their salaries, new buildings to be erected, and all other similar matters, together with the amount of city revenues which should be expended in paying teachers, and improving the schools or school buildings of the city. The local school board shall make a similar quarterly report to the Mayor. The local school board shall be furnished an office and necessary clerical force by the city superintendent out of the appropriation for his office. The care and custody of school buildings by the department of engineering and public works, and its supervision of the construction and repair of schoolhouses ordered by the Board, shall be subject to the limitations of chapter thirty-six of the Administrative Code.
