Section 68
SEC. 68. Redemption of real estate sold for taxes.—Within one year from the date of sale the delinquent taxpayer, tax's! or anyone for him, shall have the right of paying to the city assessor the amount of the public taxes, penalties, and costs, together with interest on the purchase price at the rate of fifteen per centum per annum from the date of purchase to the date of redemption; and such payment shall entitle the person paying to the delivery of the certificate issued to the purchaser and a certificate from the city assessor that he has thus redeemed the real estate, and the city assessor shall forthwith pay over to the purchaser the amount by which such real estate has thus been redeemed, and the same shall thereafter be free from the lien of such taxes and penalties.
