Preamble
WHEREAS, there are still about three hundred teachers receiving pension under Act No. 3050, as amended; WHEREAS, the pension for these teachers is now below the subsistence level; WHEREAS, the welfare of these old teachers, who have spent long and dedicated service in the government as teachers, is of paramount concern to the government; WHEREAS, present economic conditions demand that their pensions be increased in such amount as to adequately support them and their dependents in their old age. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree the following;
