Section 1
SECTION 1. Section seven of Republic Act Numbered Five hundred twenty-five, as amended by Republic Act Numbered Six hundred seventy-two, is further amended to read as follows: "SEC. 7. The Mayor—Election and compensation.—The Mayor shall bo the executive of the city. "The Mayor shall be elected by the qualified electors of the city arid shall hold office for four years unless removed. "The Mayor shall receive a salary in accordance with provisions of Republic Act Numbered Eight hundred forty. At the discretion of the Municipal Board, the Mayor may be provided in addition to his salary, a non-commutable allowance not exceeding two thousand pesos per annum. "No person shall be elected Mayor unless he has been a citizen of the Philippines for at least five years, at least ffenty-five years of age at the time of his election, a esident of the city for not less than one year immediately to his election and a qualified voter therein."
