SEC. 3. Enlisted Grades.—The following enlisted grades and the symbols therefor are hereby established: E-7 ............................ Master Sergeant, First Sergeant, or Chief Petty Officer E-6 ............................ Technical Sergeant or Petty Officer, First Class E-5 ............................ Staff Sergeant or Petty Officer, Second Class E-4 ............................ Sergeant or Petty Officer, Third Class E-3 ............................ Corporal or Seaman, First Class E-2 ............................ Private First Class or Seaman, Second Class E-l ............................ Private or Apprentice Seaman
