SEC. 2. The Committee shall have the following general functions: Serve as the national liaison in securing direct and quick exchange of information between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Food and Agri­culture Organization of the United Nations, hereinafter called the Organization; Coordinate and administer all food and agriculture activities of the Government pertaining to food and agri­cultural production, and the distribution and marketing of agricultural products in the Philippines, and to this end, the Committee shall assist in the national effort to raise the levels of nutrition and standards of living of the Filipino people; improve the efficiency of food and agricultural production and distribution of agricultural products in the Philippines; and improve the living con­dition of the inhabitants of the Republic of the Philip­pines, especially those in the rural areas.
