Section 7

SEC. 7. The Mayor.-The Mayor shall be the chief executive of the city. He shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines, with the consent of the Commission on Appointments, and shall hold office at the pleasure of the President. He shall receive a salary of not exceeding four thousand eight hundred pesos a year. With the approval of the Secretary of the Interior the Mayor may be provided, in addition to his salary, a non-commutable allowance of exceeding five thousand pesos per annum.
