Section 53
SEC. 53. Officials of the City of Talisay. - The present elective officials of the Municipality of Talisay shall continue to exercise their powers and functions until such a time that a new election is held and the duly-elected city officials shall have already qualified and assumed their offices. The present appointive officials shall likewise continue exercising their functions and duties until the new set of city officials as provided for in Section 7 herein shall have been appointed by the elected city mayor upon his assumption of office. The employees of the Municipality of Talisay shall likewise continue exercising their functions and duties and they shall be automatically absorbed by the City Government of Talisay.
