SEC. 2. Section 53 of the Republic Act No. 8223, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Marikina is hereby amended to read as follows: "SEC. 53. Legislative Districts. - Being highly-urbanized, the City of Marikina shall have two legislative districts to commence at the next national elections to be held after the effectivity of this Act. Henceforth, barangays Sto. Niño, Malanday, Sta.Elena, San Roque, Calumpang, Tañong, Barangka, Industrial Valley Complex and Jesus de la Peña shall compose the First District while barangays Nangka, Parang, Concepcion Uno, Concepcion Dos and Marikina Heights shall compose the Second District."
