Chief Executive

s 10

10.—(1) There must be a Chief Executive of the Council, whose appointment, removal, discipline and promotion must be in accordance with the Public Sector (Governance) Act 2018.[5/2018] (2) The Council may, subject to the Public Sector (Governance) Act 2018, appoint an individual to act temporarily as the Chief Executive during any period, or during all periods, when the Chief Executive —(a) is absent from duty or Singapore; or (b) is, for any reason, unable to perform the duties of the office.[5/2018]

11. The Council may, subject to the Public Sector (Governance) Act 2018, appoint and employ, on such terms and conditions as it may determine, such other officers, employees, consultants and agents as may be necessary for the effective performance of its functions.[5/2018]

Secretary of Council

s 11A

11A.—(1) The Council may appoint an employee of the Council to be the secretary of the Council.[16/2016] (2) The secretary of the Council —(a) is responsible for the following matters:(i) arranging the business, and keeping the minutes, of each meeting of the Council; (ii) conveying any decision of the Council to the appropriate person; (b) is to perform such other functions as the Chairperson may direct; and (c) must act in accordance with such instructions as the Chairperson may give.[16/2016]
