s 8 Permit for certain works on scheduled premises
8.—(1) The owner or occupier of any scheduled premises must not without a permit granted by the Director‑General —(a) alter the method of operation of any trade or industrial process, fuel burning equipment, control equipment, treatment plant or industrial plant in or on the scheduled premises; (b) install, alter or replace any fuel burning equipment, control equipment, treatment plant or industrial plant in or on the scheduled premises; (c) erect or alter the height or dimension of any chimney through which air impurities may be emitted from the scheduled premises; or (d) use any fuel other than the type of fuel specified in writing by the Director‑General.[12/2011] (2) An application for a permit under subsection (1) must contain details of the proposed installation, alteration, replacement or erection. (3) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence.[12/2011]
