s 5 Appointment of Registrar, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars and other officers

5.—(1) This Act is to be administered by the Registrar of Titles who is appointed by the Minister and who is to carry into execution the provisions of this Act and be responsible for the general administration of the Land Titles Registry.(2) The Minister may also appoint such number of Deputy Registrars and Assistant Registrars of Titles and other officers of the Registry as may be necessary for the carrying out of the provisions of this Act. (3) The Minister may create different grades for Deputy Registrars and Assistant Registrars of Titles. (4) Whenever by law anything is appointed or authorised to be done by the Registrar of Titles, that thing may lawfully be done by a Deputy Registrar or an Assistant Registrar of Titles. (5) Where any other officer is appointed to carry out the provisions of this Act —(a) the officer has to, subject to the general or special directions of the Registrar or any Deputy Registrar of Titles authorised by the Registrar to act on his or her behalf, carry out the provisions of this Act; and (b) any person dealing with or making any inquiry on any matter or fact registered or notified in the records maintained under this Act is exonerated from inquiring whether such officer who has purportedly carried out lawfully the provisions of this Act has the power to do so. —(1) This Act is to be administered by the Registrar of Titles who is appointed by the Minister and who is to carry into execution the provisions of this Act and be responsible for the general administration of the Land Titles Registry.
