s 13 Extension of restraining order
13.—(1) The Minister may, before the expiry of a restraining order as confirmed or as varied, direct that the period of the order be extended for a further period or periods not exceeding 2 years at a time.[Act 31 of 2019 wef 01/11/2022] (2) Subject to subsection (3), sections 11 and 12 apply to any direction under this section to extend as if a reference in those sections to a restraining order includes a reference to a direction to extend.[Act 31 of 2019 wef 01/11/2022] (3) However, the President may only cancel a direction to extend or confirm the direction without variation, and the Council and the Cabinet must give their advice and recommendations to the President accordingly.[Act 10 of 2025 wef 15/09/2026]
