s 32 Prison officer to have powers of police officer
32.—(1) Every prison officer while acting as such has by virtue of his or her office all the powers, authorities, protection and privileges of a police officer.[33/2004; 15/2010]
(2) Every prison officer while acting as such and exercising the powers of a police officer is deemed to be an officer not below the rank of inspector of police.[15/2010]
