s 80 Visits by Judges, Magistrates, etc.
80. Every Judge, Magistrate or Justice of the Peace having jurisdiction in the place where any prison is situated may —(a)
whenever he or she thinks fit, enter into and examine the condition of the prison and of the prisoners therein;
(b)
question any prisoner or officer; and
(c)
enter any observation he or she thinks fit to make in reference to the condition of the prison in a Visitors’ Book to be kept for that purpose by the Superintendent, which book must be duly produced to the Visiting Justices at their next ensuing visit.
