s 22 Taking body samples from individuals arrested, etc., under Internal Security Act 1960
22.—(1) Subsection (2) applies to or in relation to an individual who is —(a) arrested and detained pending enquiries under section 74 of the Internal Security Act 1960; (b) detained in a place of detention pursuant to —(i) an order made under section 8(1)(a) of the Internal Security Act 1960; or (ii) a direction given under section 8(2) of the Internal Security Act 1960; or (c) served with an order made under section 8(1)(b) of the Internal Security Act 1960. (2) Subject to section 24, a DNA officer may take a body sample from the individual mentioned in subsection (1) for forensic DNA analysis. (3) The DNA officer must send any body sample taken under subsection (2) to an authorised analyst for forensic DNA analysis.[Act 26 of 2022 wef 12/06/2023]
