s 10 Duties of chairperson and vice‑chairpersons
10.—(1) The chairperson presides at meetings of the Town Council and performs such other duties as are prescribed in this Act. (2) In the chairperson’s absence, or if at any time the office of the chairperson is vacant, any vice‑chairperson is to preside at meetings of the Town Council and perform such other duties of the chairperson as are prescribed in this Act. (3) If the chairperson and vice‑chairpersons are absent from a meeting of the Town Council, the members present must elect from among themselves a temporary chairperson to preside at that meeting.
