Consequential amendments, transitionals and repeals.

(1) The enactments specified in Schedule 4 to this Act shall have effect subject to the amendments specified in that Schedule, being amendments consequential upon the provisions of this Act. (2) The transitional provisions in Schedule 5 to this Act shall have effect. (3) The enactments and instruments specified in Schedule 6 to this Act (of which those in Part II are spent) shall be repealed to the extent specified in the third column of that Schedule.

Short title, commencement and extent.

(1) This Act may be cited as the Acquisition of Land Act 1981. (2) This Act shall come into force at the expiration of a period of three months beginning with the date on which it is passed. (3) This Act, except so far as Schedule 4 amends any enactment which extends to Scotland or Northern Ireland, extends to England and Wales only.
