(1) The denominations of money in the currency of the United Kingdom shall be the pound sterling and the penny or new penny, being one hundredth part of a pound sterling. (2) Section 1(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1967 (which is superseded by subsection (1) above) is hereby repealed.
