(1) Section 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (variation of charges at off-street parking places) is amended as follows. (2) In subsection (4), after paragraph (a) insert— (aa) consultation about their proposal; (3) After subsection (4) insert— (4A) Regulations under this section may make different provision for different purposes.

(1) This Act comes into force at the end of the period of 2 months beginning with the day on which this Act is passed. (2) This Act extends to England and Wales. (3) But the amendments made by sections 1 and 2 apply only in relation to regulations made by the Secretary of State. (4) This Act may be cited as the Parking Places (Variation of Charges) Act 2017.
