Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemptions) (Northumberland County Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 12th June 1998.

Section 2 Exemption of other cleaning by Northumberland County Council

Other cleaning by the council of the county of Northumberland shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out in their area during the period beginning with 1st August 1998 and ending on 31st March 1999.

Section 3 Exemption of sports and leisure facilities management by Suffolk Coastal District Council

The management of sports and leisure facilities by the Suffolk Coastal District Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out at The Brackenbury Sports Centre, High Road East, Felixstowe, Suffolk, during the period beginning with 1st January 1999 and ending on 31st December 2000.
