Section 1 Name, commencement and application

(1) The name of this Order is the Housing Grants (Additional Purposes)(Wales) Order 2001 and it shall come into force on 1st July 2001.

(2) This Order applies to Wales only.

(3) This Order shall not have effect in relation to an application for a grant made before 1st July 2001.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order, “ the Act ” means the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

Section 3 Renovation grants

For the purposes of section 12 of the Act (renovation grants: purposes for which grant may be given), an additional purpose specified is - to improve energy efficiency.

Section 4 Common parts grants

For the purposes of section 17 of the Act (common parts grants: purposes for which grant may be given), an additional purpose specified is - to improve energy efficiency.

Section 5 HMO (Houses in multiple occupation) grants

For the purposes of section 27 of the Act (HMO grants: purposes for which grant may be given), an additional purpose specified is - to improve energy efficiency.
