(1) This Order is called the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea (Trebanos and Clydach) Order 2002.
(2) This Order shall come into force on 6th April 2002, which is the appointed day for the purposes of the Regulations, except that for the purpose of all proceedings preliminary or relating to an election to be held on or after that date this order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

The Neath Port Talbot and Swansea (Trebanos and Clydach) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/652 (W.))
This Order made in accordance with section 58(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 gives effect to proposals by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales. The effect of those proposals will see an area of the community of Pontardawe in Neath Port Talbot (shown hatched in black on the boundary map referred to in Article 2 of the Order) become part of the community of Clydach in Swansea. Those properties numbered 162 to 172 in Pontardawe Road will be directly affected.

In this Orderβ
βthe boundary mapβ (β y map ffiniau β) means the map prepared by the National Assembly for Wales and marked βMap of the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea (Trebanos and Clydach) Order 2002β and deposited in accordance with Regulation 5 of the Regulations 1976;
βNeath Port Talbotβ (β Castell-nedd Port Talbot β) means the County Borough of Neath Port Talbot;
βthe Regulationsβ (β y Rheoliadau β) means the Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976 as amended ;
βSwanseaβ (β Abertawe β) means the City and County of Swansea.
That part of Neath Port Talbot which is in the Trebanos ward in the community of Pontardawe which is shown hatched in black on the boundary map (which includes those properties numbered 162 to 172 Pontardawe Road) shall be separated from that county borough and community and shall form part of the Clydach ward in the community of Clydach in Swansea.
