(1) There shall be a Governor of Northern Ireland, and the provisions of the Government of Ireland Act 1920 with respect to the Lord Lieutenant shall apply to the Governor of Northern Ireland and in the Government of Ireland Act 1920 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) and in any other enactment references to the Lord Lieutenant shall, in their application to Northern Ireland, be construed as references to the Governor of Northern Ireland.
