s 131 Exercise of Public Health Act powers for purposes of Part V

(1) A local authority may, for the purposes of this Part of this Act, exercise the same powers as in the execution of their duties under the Public Health Act, 1936. (2) In the application of this section to local authorities in London, for the reference to the Public Health Act, 1936, there shall be substituted a reference, in the case of a metropolitan borough council, to the Public Health (London) Act, 1936, in the case of the London County Council, a reference to the Metropolis Management Acts, 1855 to 1890, and, in the case of the Common Council of the City of London, a reference to the City of London (Sewers) Acts, 1848 to 1897.
