On the day on which this Act comes into force— Abolition of (a) subsection (2) of section 23 of the Fire Services Act 1947 she Fire (which requires the central training institution established Cottege under that section to be under the general direction of a Board. board) shall cease to have effect; and 1947 c. 41. (b) the board known as the Fire Service College Board established under that subsection shall cease to exist; and on and after that day the general direction of the institution shall be a function of the Secretary of State under that section.
