s 56 Grants for assisting victims, witnesses etc
(1) The Secretary of State may pay such grants to such persons as he considers appropriate in connection with measures which appear to him to be intended to assist victims, witnesses or other persons affected by offences. (2) The Secretary of State may make a grant under this section subject to such conditions as he considers appropriate. (3) In the application of this section to Northern Ireland, any reference in subsection (1) or (2) to the Secretary of State shall be construed as a reference to the Department of Justice in Northern Ireland.
