In the Children Act 1989, in the following provisions, after “in receipt” there is inserted “ of universal credit (except in such circumstances as may be prescribed), ” (a) section 17(9) (provision of services to children in need, their families and others); (b) section 17A(5)(b) (direct payments); (c) section 29(3) and (3A) (recoupment of cost of providing services etc); (d) paragraph 21(4) of Schedule 2 (local authority support for children and families).
