s 28 Retention of information and samples

(1) Regulations made by the Secretary of State may require— (a) specified relevant persons to retain specified petroleum-related information; (b) specified offshore licensees to retain specified petroleum-related samples. (2) Regulations under this section may include provision about— (a) the form or manner in which information or samples are to be retained; (b) the period for which information or samples are to be retained; (c) the event that triggers the commencement of that period. (3) In this section, “ specified ” means specified, or of a description specified, in regulations under this section. (4) Requirements imposed by regulations under this section are sanctionable in accordance with Chapter 5. (5) Before making regulations under this section the Secretary of State must consult the OGA.
